GM-42849 Crankshaft Rear Seal Installer
Description:
The GM-42849 Installer is a two-piece tool that mounts to the crankshaft and applies force to the inner and outer seal bodies.

This Seal Installer Alternate is made of heavy-duty steel, not aluminum, ensuring it lasts much longer and provides superior durability over time.
Instructions:
The rear crankshaft seal is press-fit to both the engine block and crankshaft. Proper alignment of the inner and outer seal bodies is critical to prevent leakage. Follow these steps:
- Place the new seal on the inner body of the GM-42849.
- Attach the tool to the end of the crankshaft assembly.
- Turn the forcing screw on the tool to press the seal until it bottoms out in the block.
