The Mack J-41683-A Alt. H-Ring Installation Tool is designed to assist in the proper reinstallation of dislodged H-rings in valve lifter bores, ensuring precise alignment and functionality in Mack E-TECH and ASET engines.

- Valve train failures such as a broken rocker arm, rocker shaft, or mounting bolts can lead to excessive valve lash and rotational force on the valve lifter body. These conditions may cause the H-ring to dislodge or misalign in the lifter bore.
- In cases where such failures have occurred, the H-ring must be inspected for proper positioning. If dislodged, it must be removed and reinstalled correctly.
- After installation of a new H-ring, use Tool J-46083 to verify proper alignment and ensure the reliability of the valve lifter assembly.
