Year 2001 C/K truck, G-van, Med Duty, C35000HD. The rear seal is press fit to both the engine and the crankshaft. Through testing it has been determined the common practice of prying seals from the block is not acceptable due to the potential of damage to the block and crankshaft. J-43320 includes a pulley plate with a forcing screw that mounts to the crankshaft end. The plate features a pattern of 8 holes equally spaced 360 degrees apart. Self drilling screws are driven through these holes and into the seal assembly. Turning the forcing screw against the crank will pull the seal off.
