2001 C/K TRUCK, G-VAN, MED DUTY, C3500D.

As stated in the service manual, J-42845 will properly install the balancer to the correct depth onto the crankshaft. Without J-42845, the extra large size of the pulley case can easily be misaligned during installation.

This tool was designed with heavy-duty features to handle the most stubborn jobs. J-42845 is bolted onto the crankshaft. The force from the rotation of the Acme threaded bolt forces the pulley into position. The spring-loaded feature inside the body of this tool allows the tech to seat the pulley at the correct depth.
