For General Motors. L VAN, TRUCK The 1997 7 1/4 front drive axle with plug-in drive axles has design refinements which include a new bearing adjuster sleeve. J 42213 is a spanner socket which engages the tabs in the adjuster sleeve and is turned clockwise or counter clockwise to set the backlash between the pinion and ring gear.
