For General Motors. C/K, F, Y, GEN 3 V8 Installation of the valve guide seals in the LSI engine to the correct position is critical. If installed too far, the seal lip will be damaged by the head and cause excess oil consumption. The excess oil will foul and contaminate the oxygen sensors and increase temperatures in the catalytic converter which will set diagnostic trouble codes. Also, the accelerated loss of oil could result in mechanical engine damage if the oil level is not regularly checked and replenished.
