Kent-Moore J-41760 Low Tire Sensor Programming Tool
For General Motors.
K & Y CAR The 1997 Corvette and 2000 DeVille features tire pressure sensors for the tire pressure monitoring system which are battery operated and programmable by the remote control door lock receiver.
When a sensor is replaced, it must be actuated to send a reference signal to the receiver but to conserve battery life the sensors only transmit when the tires are rotating.
J 41760 actuates the sensor so the module can interpret the signal and assign the sensor a position reference which represents the corner of the car where it is located.
J 41760 contains several pellets shaped with very strong fields and is positioned over the valve stem. The magnets must be strong to assure the field reaches through the rim of the sensor which is attached to the inner surface rim. The roll switch in the sensors pulled closely by magnets and the sensor transmits its reference signal to the receiver. When the tool is pulled away the switch opens and the signal stops.
