For General Motors. 3.0L CATERA The 3.0L V-6 in the Catera utilizes cracked rods. If damage (nicks, etc.) occur to the rod during installation the whole assembly must be replaced. J 41742 threads into the end of the connecting rod and protects the bearing cap mating surface from damage during installation.
