This adapter is required for correct diagnosis of the evaporative emissions system on vehicles with a interrupted thread type gas cap. The purpose for the gas cap adapter is to allow easy connection of the Evaporative Emissions System Tester to the vehicle. One end of the gas cap adapter, which has a port to connect the Evaporative Emissions System Tester will connect to the vehicle filler neck. The other end of the adapter connects to the gas cap.
