Application: 10L80/10L90 Transmission


The 10L80/10L90 stator shaft hub has a solid Teflon seal that is replaced during unit repair. DT-52429 is a set of 3 tools that correctly install and compress the solid Teflon torque converter seal on the stator shaft hub. DT-52429-3 is a protector that goes over the end of the stator shaft hub to avoid any to the seal as it slides over the hub. The DT-52429-2 pusher has expandable fingers that snug fit the protector and evenly push the seal down the protector into its groove on the shaft without over-expanding the seal. The protector has a positive stop that avoids the seal being pushed past the groove. The DT-52429-1 sizer has a tapered ID that gradually compresses the seal to the correct OD so it will fit inside the torque converter hub ID without being nicked or cut as the converter is installed. The sizer remains on the seal until just before the converter is installed. The sizer has an OD that allows the oil pump drive and seal carrier to fit over the sizer when the seal is under compression.
