Chevrolet Volt
This new design version of the original DT-50302 allows the rotor to be removed from the Volt transmission while the trans is still in the vehicle. A center hole in the rotor allows the DT-50302-A, which is a T-handled tool, to be threaded into the rotor so the complete rotor assembly can be separated from the stator. For reinstallation, two pins on the tool pilot into the rotor so it can be turned to allow alignment of the rotor to the clutch pack. When DT-50302 was originally designed for unit repair, there was no expectation that the rotor would be removed on-car. Also at that time, locating in the holes in the rotor was forbidden by the rotor DRE.
