The EGM-51102-40 is a set of two lifting straps with integral hooks designed for use with the GM-51102 Lift Fixture. This set works in conjunction with the GM-51102-10 Lateral Bars and Shackles Kit, GM-51102-20 Eye-Nuts, Washer and Bolts Hardware Kit, and the GM-51102-50 Lifting Strap Kit (which includes four straps). These components are essential for lifting the Bolt EV RESS pack.
After the pack is lowered from the vehicle using a hydraulic lift table, the GM-51102 Fixture—along with its bars, shackles, straps, hooks, and attachment hardware—is used to lift the pack off the table. This allows the pack to be placed where individual components can be diagnosed and serviced. If the pack needs to be replaced entirely, it can be lowered into the shipping crate that the replacement pack arrived in, using the EL-51102 to remove the new pack from the crate and place it in a suitable location.
The GM-51102 and all its sub-components are designed as a universal lifting tool, applicable to the Bolt EV RESS battery pack, the CT6 Cadillac PHEV RESS pack, and future vehicle RESS packs. Due to the large size and weight of the Bolt EV pack, six lift straps are used, whereas the CT6 PHEV pack requires four straps.
