The Delphi SIDI injector retaining clip must be installed without overspreading to ensure proper retention of the injector to the rail. The GM-51097 is a pliers-type tool designed to fit into the injector clip and limit the spread during removal and installation.

Usage:

  • Removal: GM-51097 fits between the clip and the injector, opening the clip to remove it from the assembly.
  • Installation: A clip is placed into GM-51097, spread, and over the injector. EN-51097 is then closed and removed from the injector rail assembly.

Unapproved methods may damage the clip, resulting in inadequate retention.

Note: Used with GM-49245.
