The GM-50717-20 Valve Spring Compressor Adapter Set is designed to be used with the GM-50717 Valve Spring Compressor on most new 2019 model-year GM engines. This adapter set accommodates engines that use M5 fasteners to retain cam carriers or camshaft covers to the cylinder head, such as the 3.0L Diesel (RPO LM2) inline 6-cylinder engine, which has a longer cylinder head compared to most previous GM engines.
