Application: 2014 Chevrolet Impala with LKW 2.5L engine

LKW engines feature camshafts held in a "ladder assembly," which must be removed to service the valves, springs, or seals while the cylinder head remains on the engine. After removing the ladder assembly, the GM-50717 tool mounts to the head to service the valve train. However, GM-50717 mounts where the ladder assembly sits and may contact the valve stems or springs, obstructing access to some cylinders' valves.

The GM-50717-10 adapter feet consist of a pair of long legs (approximately 350mm/14") that span the cylinder head at the cam cover surface, about 40 cm above the valves. These adapter feet are used with the GM-50717 components to service the valve train without contacting or damaging any components and without blocking access to any cylinders.
