General Motors GM-46409  Torque Converter Lift Assist Handle Set

Kent-Moore Tool Number: J-46409, DT-46409

Applications: 2017-later Buick LaCrosse, Enclave; Chevrolet Cruze, Equinox, Malibu, Traverse; GMC Terrain

Includes two J-46409-1

The torque convertor on the LCT weighs over 60 pounds dry, and about 75 pounds with fluid. There is very limited space inside the bell-housing area to remove it, or to guide it into position during installation. Also, if the unit is not vertical, the stator support sealing rings or front seal may be damaged by the convertor.

GMJ-46409 consists of two handles that thread into the convertor, and allow the technician to control convertor removal and installation. If not used, damage to the sealing ring, seals, or torque convertor will result in additional unnecessary repairs.
