General Motors GM-45096-55 Transmission Cooler Flusher Adapter

To prevent damage to a replacement or repaired transmission, the oil cooler and lines must be flushed of debris and contaminated fluid, and the flow tested using the GM-45096 TransFlow before the transmission is operated. To increase the energy efficiency of the Volt, a bypass valve attached to the oil cooler via short tubes allows the oil to bypass the cooler until the oil temperature reaches 180 degrees.
To perform a flush and flow test on the oil cooler, the valve must be detached, and an adapter is required to connect the J-45096 to the oil cooler. GM-45096-55 includes two adapters that allow GM-45096 to be attached to the cooler. A flow test code is created by the GM-45096, which is required on the dealership repair order for payment of the warranty claim.
