Applications:

  • 1999 and later C/K Silverado/Sierra (GMT800)
  • 2000 and later Tahoe, Escalade, Yukon, Yukon XL, Denali, Suburban with 8.6" ring gear rear axle

Description:
The GM-44685 tool is designed to remove the axle shaft bearing from the rear axle housing of C/K (GMT800-based) vehicles equipped with an 8.6" ring gear rear axle. The bearing size was updated from the previous C/K truck design to enhance strength and payload capacity, rendering the previously essential J-23689-A Bearing Remover incompatible.

To use the GM-44685:

  1. Insert the tool into the axle shaft bearing.
  2. Tighten the nut to secure the bearing between the remover head and the washer.
  3. Attach the GM-2619-O1 Slide Hammer to the GM-44685.
  4. Use the slide hammer to extract the bearing from the axle housing.
