General Motors GM-42854 Trim Height Gauge

To ensure proper alignment and optimal vehicle handling, Y-trim height must be set to factory specifications. Follow these steps to measure accurately:
- Attach the Tool to the Lower Ball Joint
- Place the magnetic end of the tool securely on the lower ball joint.
- Align the tool so the bubble in the sight level is centered.
- The tool should now be parallel to the shop floor.
- Position the Metric Scale
- Place the metric scale at the front or rear control arm attachment bolt.
- Sight along the top edge of the bar to determine the trim height setting.
- Verify Against Specifications
- Compare your measurement with the trim height specifications listed in the shop manual.
- Repeat the measurement for both the front and rear to ensure consistency.
