Detroit Diesel J-35906 DD50 DD60 Cam Gear Pilot Tool Alt. (ST-255)

This tool is a high-quality alternative for Detroit Diesel 50 and 60 Series engines. It is used to pilot the cam gear and includes the J-35906-4 bolt for early model Series 60 engines.

Warning: Late model Series 60 engines also require the adapter ST-256/J-35906-6A. There is no specific year cutoff, and many manuals do not mention the adapter.

Note:

  • Tool ST-S925: Contains coarse and fine thread pilot bolts.
  • Tool ST-255: Contains a coarse thread bolt only.
  • Tool ST-256, J-35906-6A: Contains a fine thread bolt only.
