Kent Moore EN-52483 Cover Installation Guide Pins

Guide pins (M5) are used to ensure seal covers and pans are installed correctly

Applications: 2019 Cadillac XT4 with 2.0L-T LSY engine; 2019 Silverado and Sierra with 2.7L-T L3B engine

Many newer engines use M5 fasteners to attach sealing covers. The front and rear crankshaft seals are part of the covers and are not serviced separately but for one-time use only. The covers must be installed squarely to prevent damaging the sealant (RTV) or removing sealant (Smearing of Beads before compression) from the cover and allowing it to enter the engine.

EN-52483 guide pins are screwed into two of the cover bolt holes and keep the cover straight as it is installed into position. EN-52483 also serves as guide pins for proper alignment during oil pan installation on and off vehicles.
